Abstract
The article focuses on training of professional graphic designers for packaging industry. It considers experience of teaching competitive package design on the subject “Project” at Faculty ofDesign of USAAA by means of applying active methods and role plays. The experiment described proves efficiency of active methods in comparison with traditional ones. The approach is aimed not only at improving students activity and their motivation for learning and professional activities, but it also improves training offuture professionals for real sector of Russian economy. Such a view would be of interest to specialists engaged in training undergraduates in the area of design at higher institutions.
