Abstract

The Internet as a universal means of communication has ample opportunities in communication, education, and entertainment. Self-descriptiveness, openness, anonymity of the Internet, psychologically comfortable condition in the process of communication attract teenagers. Informative and communicative environment fosters the origination of a special subculture,cyberculture. In the article it is shown that the cyber subculture is a peculiar spiritual sphere of different communities, which have their own values and antivalues. An overview of foreign and domestic research projects concerning the influence of the violent computer games on children’s and teenagers’ behavior is given in the article. The studies in this sphere, different approaches and theories, contemporary data are revealed. The attention is paid to the investigation of media habits of the gamers who play violent computer games and their direct influence upon the manifestation of aggression in real life including personal traits. The results of the research on the level of students’ enthusiasm for the role-playing games are represented (on the base of the Novosibirsk State Agrarian University). In spite of many advantages, the Internet is a catalyst for many negative phenomena, such as internet addiction, escapism, virtualization of communication, information terrorism, the social danger of which is recognized by the governmentsof many countries. One of the main problems for the states in the XXI century is the absence of control over the Internet.
