Abstract
In the article an evaluation is given to the general condition of the geopolitical theory. The author examines the history of geopolitical science through the prism of ImreLakatos’ methodology of scientific research programs. The author draws a conclusion that in contemporary geopolitics there exist the theories that correspond to the modern science standards, and the geopolitical aspect is one of the bases for consideration of many problems of the history of humanity.
