Abstract
The problem of meaning of history is discussed using the categories of testing and universally valid values. The fundamental testing processes accompany the natural processes of taking shape and the artificial processes of constructing. It is shown that it is exactly the processes of testing on various scales that play a key role in history. Since security, freedom and happiness of people depend mostly on the level of protection of the universal values (the minimal values, the thin layer of values), the meaning of human history is revealed as a global self-testing of the human race’s ability to implement these values in the tough conditions of competition and scarcity of resources.
