Abstract
The problematic status of rationality is evident not only in science but also in moral and political contexts. The value pluralism and epistemic limitations of the decision-making subject widen the gap between the requirements of rationality and normativity and hinder making individual and collective decisions. The postulates of practical rationality in social contexts need critical reassessment, concerning their instrumental aspect and the requirements of epistemic and axiological rationality.
