L. V. NEDOREZOV, A. Yu. KARLYUK

Abstract >>
A continuous-discrete model of time course of a phytocenosis is considered. The properties of the model are studied, and particularly for the case of two-age cenosis it is demonstrated that cyclic rhythms of only length 2 can be realized. Private cases of the model with a large number of age classes are studied numerically, and it is shown that in the cases under study cyclic regimes of various lengths, including chaotic regimes, are possible.

Reconstructions of Paleoclimate by Group Spore-Pollen Spectra (on the Example of West Siberia)

A. A. KONOVALOV

Abstract >>
A new method for calculation of paleoclimatic parameters by palinological data based on geometrical interpretation of relations between the elements of spore-pollen spectra and climatic systems is proposed. Examples of reconstruction of paleoclimate in Holocene are presented.

E. A. ZILOV

Abstract >>
A series of parameters used in modern ecology as indicators of state or "health" of ecological systems is considered. Among the goal functions, exergy is chosen as a theoretically well substantiated (in ther

Mathematical Simulation of the Consumer's Influence of Nitrogen Circulation in a Model Aquatic System

T. I. PISMAN, I. M. SHIROBOKOVA, Ya. V. GALAIDA

Abstract >>
An experimental and theoretical study of a closed aquatic ecosystem "producer - consumer" (Chlorella vulgaris - Paramecium caudatum) has been cattied out. The experiment was made on an installation with spatially divided units which consisted of a reactor for Chlorella cultivation (the "producer" unit) and a reactor for paramecia (the " consumer" unit). A direct relation between the paramecia reproduction with chlorella consumption and nitrogen release in ammonium form which is the most preferable for the growth of chlorella has been found. As a result of the theoretical study of the aquatic biotic "producer - consumer" cycle with spatially divided units, a contribution of paramecia to the nitrogen circulation is confirmed. It is demonstrated that simultaneously with the increase of concentration of nitrogen released due to metabolism of paramecia, an increase of productivity of microalgae takes place.

Stratigraphy, Gegeneral Technical Properties and Evolution of Peat Deposits in the Basin of the Khantai Water Reservoir

L. V. KARPENKO

Abstract >>
Peat deposits of the hydromorphic swamp complex on the poorly explored right-hand bank of the Yenisei river in the subzone of northern taiga have been studied. A brief geobotanic characteristic of the vegetable cover of the swamp massif, stratigraphy and some general technical properties of peat deposits are presented. It is found that the changes of humidity, degree of decomposition and ash content of peat have an oscillatory character, which is due to re-deposition and multiple mixture of peat layers under the influence of thermokarst processes. A conclusion is made of degradation of a flat-frost mound bog peat deposits and their evolution to pool hummock ridge bog complexes.

Mineralogical Geochemical Composition of Natural and Man-Made Component of Soils of the Tomsk Agricultural and Industrial Agglomeration

E. G. YAZIKOV, R. V. GOLEVA, L. P. RIKHVANOV, V. T. DUBINCHUK, A. Yu. SHATILOV

Abstract >>
On the example of the Tomsk agricultural and industrial agglomeration, mineralogical and geochemical peculiarities of man-made contamination of the soil cover are considered. Levels of accumulation of heavy metals, rare and rare-earth elements have been established. In the soil cover, clear-cut symptoms of man-made technical load manifested among solid mineral phases of natural origin (quartz, field spat, chlorite, etc.) and man-made (mullite, spinel, magnesium ferrite, baddeleyite, graphite, asbestos etc.) forma

Pyrogenis Successions of Xylotrophic Fungi Mycocenosises

M. A. Safonov

Abstract >>
Influence of fires on xylotrophic fungi communities is discussed. Some common laws of pyrogenic mycocenosises changes are marked. Fires results in reduction of mycocenosises species diversity as a result of decreasing of quantity and quality changes of substrates. The damage of alive trees make it possible the pathogenic species invasion in community. A role of species, capable to invade warmed substrates in communities is not significant.

Database of Natural Luminescent Bacteria

S. E. MEDVEDEVA, D. A. KOTOV, E. K. RODICHEVA

Abstract >>
The database on luminous bacteria stored at the culture collection IBSO is one of metasections of the database on luminescent organisms "BIOLUMBASE". A logical scheme of the metasection "Natural Luminescent Microorganisms", classification of subjects, methods of presentation of attributes have been developed. The database of luminescent bacteria supported in the IBSO collection is supplemented with the data of the own studies of employees of the collection and with the information from scientific literature. The database will contain information that may be useful for the solution of various tasks of microbial ecology and biotechnology  where luminescent bacteria, luminescent system isolated from them and lux-genes cloned into other organisms are used. The users will be able to obtain not only cataloguized information about strains, but also information about properties, functions, use, bibliography, and to carry out search for strains with respect to any set of desirable attributes.

On Biotic Purification of Water and Ecological Reparation

S. A. OSTROUMOV

Abstract >>
New experimental results have been obtained which demonstrate that one of the most important processes of reparation at the ecological level (restoration of water quality in the course of elimination of suspension from water by hydrobionts) is inhibited by the pollutant (xenobiotic); this points to an ele

Periodic Endogenous Changes of the Predominant Species in Complex Tree Stands

A. M. OMELKO

Abstract >>
A mathematical model explaining the mechanism of occurrence of periodic changes of the predominant species in complex tree stands is proposed. A case of a tree stand composed of two species one of which is dark coniferous and the other leafy is considered. The model is based on a modified equation of Von Foerster. It is demonstrated that periodic changes may occur in a case when the dark coniferous species possesses at the same time a high growth rate and an intense renewal.

The Influence of Quicksilver of Man-Made Damps and of the Working Zone of Gold Extraction on Biological Objects

V. M. KATOLA, V. I. RADOMSKAYA, S. M. RADOMSKY

Abstract >>
Damps of gold extraction, especially those containing quicksilver, present a serious ecological danger. Independent of the gold extraction technology, high concentrations of heavy metals and technogenous mercury differentiate in the damps various types of ecosystems with independent isolated micromycete communities. When the rules of professional safety in the process of reutilization of old wastes are not observed, the blood, hair and nail mercury content increases in the workers, which is considered as a threat of mercury intoxication.

E. V. SVIRKO, V. D. STRAKHOVENKO

Abstract >>
The heavy metal and radionuclide content were studied in thallium of epiphytic and supra-soil lichens from various regions of the Novosibirsk oblast (including the city of Novosibirsk), Altai Krai and Altai Republic. An increased accumulation of heavy metals and radionuclides was found in epiphyte lichens as compared to supra-soil ones.
