UNIVERSITY SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT IN TRANSFORMING SOCIETIES

V.V. Petrov1,2
1Institute of Philosophy and Law of the Siberian Branch of Russian Academy of Sciences, Novosibirsk
2Novosibirsk State University, Novosibirsk
Keywords: университет, глобализация, национальные системы образования, university, globalization, national education systems

Abstract >>
The changes that are taking place in Russian education under the influence of globalization processes leave a serious imprint on the development of university systems, which leads to the need to transform the university in changing sociocultural conditions. The problem discussed in this paper can be formulated as follows: on the one hand, in the context of globalization transformations, it is necessary to build up the development of domestic universities in accordance with some “unified European model”, but on the other hand, there is no understanding that it can act as such universal model of the development of university systems in transforming societies. The purpose of the work is to determine the possibility of creating a “universal” model of university systems in the context of globalization. To achieve this goal, the method of philosophical conceptualization is used and sociocultural and cultural-philosophical approaches are used, which made it possible to generalize the data obtained during the study. The definition of the university system is formulated, the key organizational principles of the university are identified, the experience of the development of European university systems is analyzed, the ontological aspects of their development are shown and the key factors that directly affect the formation and development of national universities are identified. As a result of comparison in the single categorical space of university models in England, France, Germany, it is proved that the main reason that impedes the formation of a “universal” model for the development of university systems in transforming societies under the influence of globalization processes is the self-defense response of national education systems that have historically formed under the influence of conservative traditionalism and national fundamentalism.

SOCIAL CAPITAL AND MODERN EDUCATION: HIERARCHY AND INVERSION

D. A. Sevostyanov
Novosibirsk State Agrarian University, Novosibirsk, 1Russian Federation
Keywords: личный социальный капитал, активный социальный капитал, пассивный социальный капитал, социальная иерархия, инверсия, personal social capital, active social capital, passive social capital, social hierarchy, inversion

Abstract >>
The article deals with the concept of "social capital". Various interpretations of this concept are analyzed. In particular, it is shown that social capital can be represented both as a social asset and as a personal asset of an individual. Social capital, considered as a purely social phenomenon, is described as the presence of public trust. Social capital, which is considered as a personal asset of the subject, is one of the factors determining its position in the society. The article identifies two types of personal social capital - active and passive. On the basis of personal social capital, there is a social and communicative organizational principle in the social hierarchy. This is just one of many organizational principles that determine the position of a person in the social hierarchy. This principle, for all its importance, can not be considered as the main one. First, social capital is often important not in itself, but as a means to achieve some external goals. Secondly, if the subject seeks to take a higher social position on the basis of only social capital, it becomes a manifestation of populism and intrigue. This manifests an inversion in the social hierarchy-a state that threatens the destruction of the system. The acquisition and accumulation of personal social capital begins from childhood in the family. However, educational institutions play a decisive role in this issue. It is during the period of training that there is a very intensive accumulation of social capital. Therefore, the accumulation of personal social capital of students deserves special attention and separate study. Both ascertaining and formative experiments can be used for this purpose.

TRANSFORMATION OF THE RUSSIAN EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM: THE PROBLEM OF ACADEMIC FREEDOMS AND THE CHOICE OF INDIVIDUAL EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGIES

Siberian University of Consumer Cooperation, Novosibirsk
Keywords: трансформация высшего образования, академические свободы, компетентностная модель, образовательные стандарты и технологии, болонские преобразования, transformation of higher education, academic freedoms, competency model, educational standards and technologies, Bologna transformations

Abstract >>
The article discusses the critical aspects of the transformation of the Russian educational system in the post-Soviet period during the implementation of certain Bologna principles in higher education (HE) in the context of the problem of academic freedoms and independence of universities. It is noted that the Bologna transformations in Russian higher education (for example, the artificial division into bachelor's and master's degrees, poorly formulated competency-based educational standards, etc.) have a dubious prognostic perspective, but, nevertheless, they continue to be introduced into educational practice. They contribute to the bureaucratization of universities, limit the traditional autonomy and independence of universities, the choice and independence of individual educational technologies even of leading professors in their field. This reduces the productivity of their scientific and educational activities, the effectiveness and quality of the educational process, as well as the positive motivation and creative component both in the work of teachers and in the attitude of students to study. In modern educational practice, there are enough examples confirming the variability of student subjectivity, sometimes in the direction of its destructiveness. As an empirical base, the article uses data from sociological studies conducted among teachers of four Siberian universities and three educational institutions of further education in various areas of professional activity, as well as expert opinions of more than a hundred teachers of higher education in the Siberian region.

Abstract >>
At present, we are witnessing a profound transformation of all spheres of society's life, including the education system. Changes are taking place in the direction of digitalization - an actual trend in the modern educational space. However, there is no single interpretation of the concept of digitalization, so digitalization occurs in a situation of conceptual uncertainty. In addition, the scientific literature uses different terms to refer to digital education: «digitalization of education», «smart education», «digital education», etc. Hence, there is also terminological uncertainty. The article contains several definitions of the term «digitalization», a list of normative documents aimed at regulating the educational process in relation to digitalization, stages of digitalization of education, and its prospects and risks. It is noted that it is necessary to take into account the advantages and disadvantages of digitalization of education, in accordance with this, to adjust changes in the educational space. We believe in education, you need to use the advantages of digital learning, which should be a complement to traditional (mixed education), while it is important to update the ethical aspect of education, save in the educational process moral component. We agree with M. A. Manikovskaya, who notes that the solution to the problem «is seen in its new turn, which indicates the prospect of identifying and preserving in the transforming education the constructive possibilities of optimal and harmonious coupling of digital and humanitarian technologies that ensure a person's moral identity». The theoretical and methodological basis of the research is the works devoted to the problem of digitalization of the educational space.

The types of stimulation, which include value, pedagogical, psychological, moral, material, active and passive stimulation, direct or indirect, are studied. It is aimed at stimulating, for example, mental cognitive processes (sensation, perception, memory, imagination, thinking, attention, etc.), performing certain actions or mastering given information, and practicing practical tasks. The readiness of future lawyers for lawmaking appears before us isomorphic to lawmaking itself, however, it has its own specific emotional-communicative and value-semantic content, which is conditioned on the one hand by the level of functional psychomotor readiness to solve law-making problems and the corresponding level of intellectual and creative aspirations, based not only on cumulatively accumulated knowledge and experience, but also on the value attitude to the future profession, on the other hand it is caused by emotional-volitional interaction and communication of some subjects of carriers of readiness for law-making activity with others.

Abstract >>
Modernity is the time and place of the emergence of the postindustrial type of urban society. This type differs in many respects from the urban formations of communities in the agrarian and industrial stages of social development and interacts with them in different ways: there are many different ways of interaction-different processes and different results within the dialectically connected phenomenon of urbanization. New urban media - an important tool for the search and approval of new meanings of life and development of the city and its inhabitants. New city media are actively involved in the processes of training and rebranding urban and adjacent to them - regional - territories. Urban media construct and reconstruct the " city text" in its multiple manifestations. The purpose of the development of modern urban media and the real resource of their survival is the development of trust of the media and citizens. They need directional work in the field of moral and ethical meanings within journalism and between journalists and citizens. Many new urban media continue the line of “old” media for destruction. The process of counteracting littering and misinformation in the media is very important not only to solve the crisis existing in modern relations, culture and education, but also to prevent the impending catastrophe of culture, art, science, professional activity and education. consciousness and human life in the near future.

Keywords: Религиозные организации, религиозное законодательство, полевые социологические исследования, Religious organizations, religious legislation, field sociological research

Abstract >>
This paper presents specific characteristics of denominations and religious organizations and groups taking into account contemporary religious legislation, methodological principles, and regional specifics for a qualitative methodological study of the program of sociological field research. The purpose of the article is to consider the main types of religious organizations and groups, aspects of identifying religious communities, difficulties in interpreting and applying religious legislation by a researcher who does not have special religious knowledge. Methodology. The article used the method of religious comparative studies, the comparative historical method, the system approach, work with documents (the analysis of sociological monitoring data conducted in the Altai Republic). Results. Considering various typologies and criteria for distinguishing religious communities, it is more correct to stick to typologies that are close to the normative base (names and wordings presented in religious legislation) and also include specific features taking into account this or that regional component in the Russian Federation. In accordance with the religious legislation, all religious organizations and groups have an equal status (principle of secularism, freedom of conscience). In addition to the normative component, a sociologist has to consider the peculiarities of representing a religious group and organization in the public mind (legal names may not coincide with common names or, on the contrary, may be mixed in the minds of the respondents, for example, various Christian groups and denominations and their names are confused by the population). When studying the public opinion as well as analyzing the religious ideas of the younger generation, it is necessary to take into account the specifics of the representation of religious organizations and groups, both real and virtual, in the Internet. The state pays special attention to the analysis of virtual manifestations of religious extremism. A sociologist needs not only to understand the network content, but also to be able to correlate it with real religious communities.

COMPETENCE APPROACH AND PROBLEMS OF ITS IMPLEMENTATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION

Keywords: компетенции, компетентностный подход, ФГОС, оценивание компетенции, оценочное средство, результат освоения компетенции, competencies, competence-based approach, The Federal State Educational Standard, assessment of competence, assessment tool, the result of the development of competence

Abstract >>
Currently, the vocational education system is based on a competency-based approach, which considers the person’s ability to act productively in a professional situation rather than the amount of information learned as the result of education. The term “competency”, as an indicator of the result of training, was introduced in the Russian Federation in 2009, with the introduction of the state educational standards for higher education of the first generation (Federal State Educational Standard), at the same time as the graduate students’ competency model was introduced. Competence-based education implies competence-based orientation of both the content of the educational process and the methods of its implementation, as well as assessment procedures, means of assessing the quality of students’ training, since the goals and the content of education, the organization of the educational process that are provided by educational standards, determine the results of education in the form of competencies. The implementation of the standards of competencies set in the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education in the actual learning process proved to be not so simple. Difficulties arise when relating the goals of education with the expected results, i.e., competencies. The difficulties are associated with the mismatch between the practical orientation of the competence-based approach and the existing subject-based orientation of the pedagogical practice. In the course of studying a specific discipline, the opportunity to fully form a speicfic competency, not a set of competencies specified by the Federal State Educational Standard, but also a specific competence, is small. However, the main difficulty is associated with the assessment of the level of competence formation. A competence-based approach requires measuring not only specific knowledge and skills of students, but an assessment of the qualities of the person him- or herself. However, the existing system for assessing the quality of education does not have the necessary assessment tools for this. This article discusses the issues of competence-based education in higher education, analyzes its features, and problems raleted to the assessment of the level of competence formation.

Keywords: педагогические условия, ценность, формирование, универсальные компетенции, pedagogical conditions, value, formation, universal competencies

Abstract >>
Problem and purpose. The article presents pedagogical conditions, the implementation of which will increase the effectiveness of the formation of universal competencies among students of an economic university in the process of conducting physical education classes. Currently, taking into account the transition to federal state educational standards of higher education (GEF VO 3 ++), the problem of the formation of universal competencies in the process of implementing the disciplines “Physical Culture and Sport” and “Elective Disciplines in Physical Culture and Sports” is being updated. The problem of the formation of universal competencies in the implementation of these disciplines is due to changes in the requirements for the level of specialist training, in order to ensure full social and professional activity. We point out that in modern society, taking into account federal state educational standards of higher education, a specialist is required to be able to manage his time, build and implement a path of self-development (including health saving) throughout his life, as well as the ability to maintain an adequate level of physical fitness to ensure full social and professional activities. Note that changing the requirements for training a specialist involves the correction of pedagogical conditions in educational institutions of higher education in order to qualitatively solve the pedagogical task of forming universal competencies. Accordingly, the definition of effective pedagogical conditions will significantly improve the quality of the implementation of the disciplines “Physical Culture and Sport” and “Elective Disciplines in Physical Culture and Sport” and provide training for a specialist who is able to manage his time, build and implement a path of self-development (including health conservation) throughout all life. The purpose of the article is to present pedagogical conditions from the perspective of a systematic and personal-activity approach, the implementation of which will allow students to form universal competencies for students of an economic university in order to effectively manage their time and ability to choose a health-saving technology for the high-quality fulfillment of professional tasks throughout the activity.

The training of personnel with the help of e-learning is mostly less systematic, and is oriented more likely to the application of some elements (tools) of electronic learning in Russia. Nevertheless, as part of the development of the project to integrate online technologies into professional education programs, including additional ones, the number of open online courses (MOOCs) used for staff training is growing. In Russia, the most used method for monitoring personnel knowledge in various forms of personnel training is automated testing with the help of distance educational technologies, which allows to achieve didactic goals. Various tools have been developed to automate the process of controlling the knowledge of enterprise personnel. The article provides a comparative analysis of the functionality of two systems for automated testing of personnel of energy enterprises - INDIGO and LMS NSTU Dispace 2.0. It is shown that LMS NSTU can be used not only for knowledge control, realizing the testing function, but also recommend it for training, pedagogical monitoring and correction of the pedagogical process of training enterprise personnel. The necessity of supplementing electronic educational resources under the program "Fire Safety" with the methods of "involving training" is shown. With a standard feature set, the INDIGO testing system has a more sophisticated and accurate multi-stage testing and evaluation system.

Abstract >>
The article evaluates the theoretical and practical possibilities of the discipline "History" in the formation of civic consciousness as a high level of social, political, and moral maturity of a person. History is rich in examples of civil de-socialization, which the history teacher honestly demonstrates to students. Due to the revealed consistent pattern of the influence of civil de-socialization of the ruling elite representatives (reduction of their level of civic maturity and, as a result, deformation of their civic dignity as a complex social and moral qualities and values) on deepening the alienation of power from society, the author raises the question of the ability of citizens to form the conditions of synthesis of the society and state through forms of civic expression, or civic consciousness (positive social activity). Special importance of such form of civic consciousness manifestation as public control over the ruling elite is noted. Proper mutual control of society and the state has an educational impact on citizens in the system of political relations, no less than the organized activities of educational institutions. The author substantiates the idea that students' assimilation of the world's historical experience in organizing public control of the state as an integral addition to state control and the development of students' critical attitude to the "unpopular " initiatives of the ruling elite, which represents the state, reveals the possibility of normalizing the responsible relationships between the state and society.

Abstract >>
The article presents the analysis of seismic observations in mine roadways. The recorded seismic signals are connected with dynamic deformation of rock mass under massive blasting. The source of induced seismicity are dynamic movements of rocks with an amplitude of 3-30 μm along fractures 1-15 m long. These events feature low values of reduced energy, probably, due to shallow depth of mining. Distribution of induced seismicity events in time and space agreed with patterns of larger seismic events due to remote earthquakes, which implies weak probability of nasty geodynamic phenomena in the course of mining in the Korobkov Field.

Abstract >>
The authors examine Kaiser effect in sandstone in nonproportional triaxial cyclic compression tests with stage rotation of an assigned stress ellipsoid through an angle of 90°. The load program consists of three pairs of cycles such that the maximal nominal stress of the second cycle exceeds the first cycle stress by 20 MPa at the constant side support. Cyclic loading is applied to sandstone in three orthogonal directions, with two cycles in each direction. Kaiser effect only appears in the second loading in the same direction, and activation of acoustic emission upon the change in the active loading direction is independent of the earlier reached stress level. This fact points at the orientation-driven nature of Kaiser effect, which means the material remembers its lattermost internal damaged structure.

Abstract >>
Blasting still dominates the most suitable and economic processes of exploitation of minerals from the ground. Although there have been many advancements to optimize blasting to inhibit the impacts due to ground vibration caused by it, still there is a long way to go. Some empirical formulas from the past have helped in designing the mining process and served us well in configuring the blast design to minimize the adverse impacts on the surrounding environment. A couple of empirical formulas taken in this study have also proven worthy for predicting the ground vibration with good accuracy, but the reliance of the empirical formulas on only two parameters is their limitation since the beginning. This study aims to find alternatives with the help of various regression models and comparing their competence against the more traditional predictors existing today. The findings of this study suggest that the regression methods can have a better insight into the prediction of the PPV corresponding to the input parameters. The GPRs (Gaussian Process Regressions) were able to predict the ground vibration with much better precision compared to the linear regression methods and also the empirical predictors.

Keywords: Взрывные работы, экологическая геофизика, сейсмографы, сейсмические колебания, Blasting, environmental geophysics, geophones, vibration

Abstract >>
Scaled distance equations used for estimating peak particle velocity have been developed by some researchers. The most widely used equation among these is the equation developed by Duvall and Fogelson. However, the equation has not exactly estimated the peak particle velocity correctly. In this study, peak particle velocity values were measured by a number of blast tests that were conducted in four different sites by using a vibration meter. Scaled distance values for each blast test were calculated according to the equation proposed by Duvall and Fogelson. Subsequently, a new equation that calculates the scaled distance was proposed. The proposed equation gave more realistic values than the equation proposed by Duvall and Fogelson.

Abstract >>
The authors study the process of the induced stress field formation in mining with the conventional and nature-like geotechnical systems, including frame and honeycomb mine structures. The rate of change in the natural stress field during mining is estimated using a new index-response factor. Based on the data of experimental mine research, as well as physical and numerical models, with regard to the numerical model calibration, the diagram of influence exerted on the rate of change in the natural stress field by the geometry of stopes in underground ore mining with the conventional and nature-like geotechnologies is plotted. It is found that the highest effect on the size of the induced tensile strain zones is exerted by the mining systems with caving of ore and enclosing rocks. The optimum response factor is a characteristic of the frame mine structure.

Abstract >>
Aim of the study was to investigate the atherosclerotic calcification employing our original technique of tissue staining, embedding, and backscattered scanning electron microscopy. Materials and methods. Atherosclerotic plaques excised during the carotid endarterectomy have been fixed in 10 % neutral phosphate buffered saline formalin for 24 hours, stained in 2 % osmium tetroxide for 60 hours and in alcoholic uranyl acetate for 5 hours with the subsequent epoxy resin embedding, grinding, polishing, lead citrate counterstaining for 7 minutes, sputter coating with carbon and backscattered scanning electron microscopy. We then analysed localisation, structure, and microenvironment of the calcium deposits. Results. Within the atherosclerotic plaques, we identified 3 distinct calcification morphologies: compact homogenous macrocalcifications, sheet-like heterogeneous macrocalcifications along the destructed collagen and elastin fibers, and microcalcifications around large calcium deposits with the sharp margins. However, even relatively homogenous compact macrocalcifications had uneven distribution of electron density. In conjunction with groups of mineral deposits of distinct calcium phosphate phases including nascent calcified loci, this testified to ongoing calcium phosphate maturation while multiple microcalcifications merging into the single macrocalcification indicated ossification. Compact ossifying macrocalcifications with smooth margins frequently had a dense connective tissue capsule. The microenvironment of calcium deposits was often characterised by leaky neovessels. Conclusion. Diversity of calcification morphologies and ossification in atherosclerotic plaques is similar to those observed in calcific aortic valve disease and bioprosthetic heart valve failure. Combined with atherosclerotic plaque disaggregation followed by flow cytometry and single-cell RNA sequencing, our technique may improve our understanding of atherosclerotic calcification and lead to the identification of appropriate therapeutic targets to prevent or retard this process.

Abstract >>
The aim of the work was to study the compositional features of fatty acids of erythrocyte membranes and blood serum in patients with fatty liver disease of alcoholic (AFLD) and nonalcoholic (NAFLD) genesis for possible use for differential diagnosis. A total of 80 men (51.8±3.9 years) with AFLD ( n = 28) and NAFLD ( n = 52), as well as 20 conditionally healthy individuals were examined. The composition of erythrocyte membrane and serum fatty acids (FA) was studied using a chromatography mass spectrometry system based on three Agilent 7000B quadrupoles (USA). Differences in levels and ratios of FA in blood serum and erythrocyte membranes were revealed in patients with alcoholic and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Increased esterification of FA, increased synthesis of polyunsaturated (PUFA), enhancing liver damage caused by ethanol, a significant role of oleic and linoleic acids are associated with AFLD. Patients with NAFLD showed elevated levels of potentially lipotoxic saturated FA (margarine, stearic, arachinic, pentadecanoic) with a decrease in monounsaturated (palmitoleic, elaidic, oleic). A decrease in the content of docosahexaenoic n -3 PUFAs against the background of a compensatory increase in the level of docosapentaenoic FA n -6 with an omega-3 deficiency, increased consumption of omega-6 PUFAs suggest defective desaturation of unsaturated fatty acids and increased longchain PUFA peroxidation followed by oxidative stress, especially insulin resistance. The synthesis of triglycerides provides a protective mechanism against toxic accumulation of free FA in the liver. Correlation was established between the levels of FA erythrocyte phospholipids and components of the metabolic syndrome, markers of alcohol consumption. Pilot diagnostic models have been obtained that make it possible to distinguish patients with NAFLD and AFLD from healthy patients (AUC 0.892, sensitivity 0.82, specificity 0.88 for NAFLD; AUC 0.811, sensitivity 0.74, specificity 0.80 for ASFLD), as well as NAFLD from AFLD (AUC 0.790, sensitivity 0.73, specificity 0.78). FA profiles of erythrocyte membranes and blood serum are reliable biomarkers of disorders in lipid metabolism in patients with fatty liver disease of various genesis and are promising from the point of view of differential diagnosis.

Abstract >>
Aim: to determine the association of the thickness of epicardial adipose tissue (EAT) with the level of biological markers and the degree of myocardial fibrosis one year after myocardial infarction (MI) in patients with visceral obesity (VO). Materials and methods: the study included 88 patients with MI who were then divided into 2 groups: with and without it. VO and myocardial fibrosis a year after MI were measured by magnetic resistance tomography (MRI). Serum levels of COL 1, PICP, PIIINP on the 1st day of MI and after 1 year were determined by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The results were analyzed using Statistica 6.1 and SPSS 17.0 for Windows. Results: in the presence of VO, an increase in the thickness of EАT, development of cardiofibrosis after 1 year, and an increase in circulating markers of fibrosis in the acute period of MI were observed. A direct correlation was found between the thickness of EАT and the concentration of markers of myocardial fibrosis both on the 1st day of MI and after a year, as well as the percentage of cardiofibrosis and COL1, PICP, PIIINP, on the 1st day of MI for both groups, one year after MI this relationship persisted only in individuals with VO ( r = 0.54, p = 0.01; r = 0.33, p = 0.00; r = 0.51, p = 0.01). Conclusions: the fact of VO in patients with MI is associated both with an increase in the thickness of ECT, the development of cardiofibrosis one year after MI, and with an increase in serum levels of COL 1, PICP and PIIINP on the 1st day and a year after the MI. In addition, the thickness of EАT is directly proportional to the degree of VO, and the levels of myocardial fibrosis markers depend on the value of EАT, this makes it possible to consider EАT as an additional indicator of myocardial fibrosis

In 2003-2005, in the frames of the HAPIEE international project «Determinants of cardiovascular diseases in Eastern Europe: a multicenter cohort study» the population sample aged 45-69 (9360 people, 4266 men and 5094 women, average age - 57.6 years) was examined in Novosibirsk. The calculation of body mass index (BMI) was carried out according to the formula: BMI (kg / m2) = weight (kg) / height2 (m2). The BMI classification of obesity was used (WHO, 1997). For the analysis of nutrition, we used a semi-quantitative frequency questionnaire - Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and the European database Phenol-Explorer 3.6. Results. The chance of developing overweight in women decreases by 24% with high polyphenols consumption in general: odds ratio (OR) 1.24 (confidence interval (CI) 1.01-1.53), p = 0.048. For a high consumption of phenolic acids in the whole population, the probability decreases by 26 %: OR 1.26 (CI 1.11-1.44), p < 0.001; in women - by 57 %: OR 1.57 (CI 1.27-1.94), p < 0.001. In a population, the probability of developing overweight with a high consumption of stilbenes decreases by 21 %: OS 1.21 (CI 1.06-1.4), p = 0.004, in women - by 37 %: OS 1.37 (CI 1,11-1.7), p = 0.003; for the class of other polyphenols, the chance decreased in the population by 30 %: OR 1.3 (CI 1.13-1.46), p = 0.001, in women by 50 %: OR 1.5 (CI 1.22-1.84 ), p < 0.001. Conclusions. High levels of polyphenols consumption in general, as well as phenolic acids, stilbenes, and the class of other polyphenols reduced the chance of overweight developing.

Abstract >>
Objective. In this work we analyzed the current literature data about the retinal damage in cardiovascular diseases and diabetes mellitus (published from 2005 to 2020). The damage of retinal vascular bed and optic nerve represents a relevant problem in the modern world in view of the significant prevalence, severity of retinal irreversible damage leading to disability, and in relation to comorbidity with cardiovascular diseases (CVD). Methods. Publications on selected topic were analyzed from 2005 to 2020. The search was carried out using the electronic databases of the Google Academy (https://scholar.google.com/), PubMed (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/), eLIBRARY.ru (https: //www.elibrary.ru/) and foreign and national journals devoted to cardiology, therapy and ophthalmology. Results. The analysis of literature showed that atherosclerotic lesion of the microvascular retinal bed is a significant risk factor for acute coronary syndrome myocardial infarction (MI) and stroke. However, the identity of atherosclerotic processes occurring in the retinal vascular bed and in the peripheral arteries remains open. A strong association was shown between hypertensive retinopathy (HR) has with MI, congestive heart failure (CHF) and CHD mortality in large-scale population-based studies such as ARIC and Rotterdam Study. The question of the predictive significance of GR, depending on its degree, remains debatable. There are consistent evidence on the association between HR and CHD and CHF. Diabetic retinopathy (DR) represents a neurovascular complication of diabetes. In predominantly clinical work, there is evidence of the significance of DR as a risk marker for Stroke, diabetics peripheral neuropathy, autonomic cardiac neuropathy, thickness of carotid intima-media, micro albuminuria. A number of other major clinical works has not shown a significant association between DR and stroke. A significant drawback of investigation of the relationship between DR and CVD is a lack of population studies on this topic. Conclusions. Despite the use of modern diagnostic methods and a fairly large number of studies of the eye vascular bed and retina, the data about their relationship with CVD remain scare and contradictory, which is largely due to the limited size of the studied samples, the variability of the estimates, and a complexity of the pathway of atherosclerosis and CVD. The study of association between CVD and retinal pathology in the Russian population with using of automatic assessment of the microvascular bed provides a unique opportunity to solve some contradictory aspects and obtain new data.

Abstract >>
This review is devoted to the analysis of data on the study of the endocrine function of perivascular adipose tissue (PVAT), its role in the synthesis and secretion of adipocyte hormones - adipokines (leptin, adiponectin, resistin). The results of studies on the possible systemic and local effects of PVAT are reflected. Demonstrated data on the phenotypic affiliation of PVAT, the features of its endocrine and paracrine functions. Pro-and anti-inflammatory agents secreted by PVAT affect vascular health and are involved in the pathogenetic mechanisms of the development of atherosclerosis. This review summarizes current evidence that PVAT refers to special types of adipose tissue, in terms of both functionality, origin, and role in the development of cardiovascular diseases caused by obesity. In general, PVAT can be considered as a promising pharmacological target for the prevention of cardiovascular risks associated with these diseases.
