Abstract
Effective management of a direct investment fund and determination of return on investment require determination of the optimal approaches to assessment of value of direct investment funds at the stage of their creation, monitoring and closing. The article considers classic and modern approaches and methods of assessment of companies in the fund portfolio; main advantages and disadvantages and use cases of each approach are revealed; optimal approaches and methods of assessment of funds depending on the stage of fund functioning are defined.
