Abstract
In the article, on the example of teaching a course of logic and its first topics in the Law Institute, there are considered the following aspects of the education-upbringing process: adequate understanding of the issues and adequate mastering by the students of the studied material; creative, critical, dialectical-materialistic approach to the theory and practice, introducing of the freshmen to the research work, reflection and practical realization of the unity of education and upbringing, the result of which should become the development of personality of the student, formation of the attitude of citizenship, patriotism, professionalism, positive moral qualities.
