Abstract
The author analyses the concepts and key parameters of the value of information by means of comparing such its characteristics as novelty, importance, utility, and truth. The value-related characteristics of scientific, aesthetic, ethic, ideological, socio-political, and economic types of information are considered in the article from the viewpoint of the subject and object approach. The interrelation between the value of information and the goals and needs of the individual is revealed.
