Abstract
The article is devoted to the critical analysis of the philosophical and world outlook foundations of the creative works of Dostoevsky and Tolstoy. The purpose of the analysis is the development of possibilities of the paradigmatic analysis, allowing considering the philosophical ideas in their unity with the artistic, philosophical, and ideological context of the epoch. The author, turning to the Living Life work by the known Russian writer V. V. Veresaev, shows that the latter represents an integral realization of the non-classical anti-metaphysical ontology. At the same time, it brings attention to the question about the connection between the ontology and the world outlook dispositions of the considered writers. These and other features of work allow, according to the author, to consider it as a possible introduction into the history of philosophical thought of the end of XIX - the beginning of the XX century.
