Abstract
The paper gives assessment to some Russian and foreign scholarly approaches to the category of «network structures». The author comes to the conclusion that study of network structures in regional economy can be ensured by certain approaches such as subject-object, synergetic and geo-economic ones, which take into account different aspects of the network structures and the economic development of the territory (subject of the Russian Federation). The essential characteristics of network structures within each of the above approaches are given.
