On the Possibility of Application of Hypophthalmichthys molitrix for Prevention of Water "Blooming" in Siberian Cooling Water Dodies

Abstract
Analysis of literature dedicated to application of silver carp Hypophthalmichthys molitrix (Valenciennes, 1844) for prevention of mass development of blue-green algae and experimental studies of the feeding spectrum of the silver carp was carried out. Conditions under which introduction of H. molitrix can result in a perceptible decrease of the blooming level are considered. Practical and theoretical recommendations on introduction of silver carp into warmed waters of Siberian cooling water bodies are made.
