Inter-simple sequence repeats (ISSR) markers of genomic DNA were used to assess the genetic diversity in six popu- lations of Astragalus sericeocanus - rare endemic species to the shore of Lake Baikal. Five primers amplified 91 bands with 86 (94.1 %) being polymorphic. A low level of genetic similarity among population Turka and other populations was detected, based on the Nei’s distance (0.145). The low genetic connectivity was found among population Turka and other populations is an evidence of enough long-term insulation this population on the eastern coast of Lake Baikal. Based on these results the conservation strategy of Astragalus sericeocanus was proposed.
The anatomy of the leaf Gueldenstaedtia monophylla in five natural populations of Central Altai has been studied. It is found that the Gueldenstaedtia monophylla leaf has izopalisade structure that reflects its xerophytic nature. Learned anatomical features have low levels of variability (less than 20 %). A considerable similarity in the structure of the leaves in plants from different populations was defined.

Variation of morphological characters in Elymus gmelinii in comparison with variability in E. ciliaris s. l. and E. pendulinus s. l. was studied. As well as other species of the StY-genome group E. gmelinii includes set of differing morphotypes, but unlike E. ciliaris and E. pendulinus remains homogeneous taxonomically, without recognition intraspecific taxa and separate species. The analyses of a series morphological characters has shown, that distinctions between populations of E. gmelinii from different place of the area cannot be used as basis for recognition of independent species. More adequate approach for systematisation of the genus Elymus provides a complex of methods for delimitation between independent species.

At the base of the Russian Arctic biodiversity monitoring network comparative study of latitudinal structure spectra of 137 local and 6 regional floras from 3 sectors of Asian Arctic was performed. Levels of similarity latitudinal struc- ture spectra by groups and by fractions were calculated, territories with similar spectra were shown at the schematic maps and compared with existing subzonal division of tundra zone. 3 latitudinal types of local floras (arctic, boreal, hypoarctic) and within the arctic type 3 subtypes (high arctic, proper arctic, hypoarctic) were distinguished. Com- parison of latitudinal structure of regional floras, calculated in 2 different ways: ratios obtained from total lists of species for each subprovince and ratios obtained after normalizing the lists by frequencies of species in local floras in given subprovince. The latter is shown to be more correct. Most similar to each other are regional floras with similar sets of subzonal units, though they may be located in different longitudinal sectors.
Vegetation in the special hilly area nearby Uglitskiy Village (steppe zone of Chelyabinsk oblast) was carefully investigated, their ecological-floristic classification was implemented, 3 new subassociations were described. Spatial pattern of plant community distribution was shown, forest-steppe characters of vegetation were proved. Reasons for the existence of isolated forest-steppe enclave in steppe zone were discussed.
Cirsium helenioides (L.) Hill. (Asteraceae) is the long-lived short-rhizome herbaceosus polycarpic plant, one of the dominant plant in tall-herbal meadows in Salair Ridge. The descriptions and localities in Baikal Siberia of two lichen species Collema pulcellum Ach. var. pulcellum and C. ryssoleum (Tuck.) A. Schneid. are provided. A new form C. pulcellum var. pulcellum f. isidiosum Makryi, f. nov. is described. It has been established that literary data about distribution of C. nigrescens (Huds.) DC. and C. subni grescens Degel. in south part of East Siberia and Russian Far East are erroneous. In fact, being widespread species in these regions is C. pulcellum var. pulcellum , while C. nigrescens and C. subnigrescens das not occur at all. Expressed the view that the volume of species C. pulcellum s. l. sensu G. Degelius is too large and poorly correlated with the volumes of other Collema species of Nigrescens -group. Taking into account the signifi cant differences in the morphological and anatomical structure of thalli, shape and size of spores, and character of areas, it would be correct to consider all three varieties (var. pulcellum , var. subnigrescens (Müll. Arg.) Degel., and var. leucopeplum (Tuck.) Degel.) as separate species, as they have been described.

Classification of zonal boreal forests in the Bolshoy On River basin (Western Sayan) was performed. Two associations ( Larici sibiricae-Abietetum sibiricae ass. nova hoc loco и Carici iljinii-Pinetum sibiricae ass. nova hoc loco) and two non-rank communities included in the class Vaccinio-Piceetea Br.-Bl. in Br-Bl., Siss. et Vlieger 1939 were described. The altitudinal spectrum of forest communities of the studies area is represented by two geographical boreal forests types - Urals-Siberian and Eastern Siberian. It indicates that boreal vegetation of the Bolshoy On River basin keeps transitional ecological features between ultra-humid cyclonic and moderately humid anti-cyclonic bioclimatic sectors. Importance of floristic features of boreal forests and results of syntaxonomic analysis for defi nition of bioclimatic subdivisions in the Altai-Sayanian mountain region is discussed.
