Abstract
The history of origination and development of mechanochemistry in Siberia is outlined. Three main stages are revealed: 1. Early works in mechanochemistry (Tomsk period, 1950-1961). 2. Mechanochemistry in the Siberian Branch of the AS USSR (1961-1990). 3. Post-perestroika period (1990-2002).
