Abstract
The morphology of the valve of Achnanthidium rivulare Potapova et Ponader, a rare species for the flora of Russia, was studied using scanning electron microscopy. It is found that valves show a wider variability of a number of quantitative features (length and width of the valve, the number of areolae in each striae in the center of the valve), which made it possible to specify the description of the specie
