Abstract

The results of magnetotelluric studies on the Medvetskoye–Toguchin settlement profile, located in the interface zone of the southern margin of the West Siberian Plate and its mountain-folded rim, the Altai-Sayan folded region, are considered. The profile intersects elements of three large tectonic structures: the Salair cover-folded structure, Gorlovskiy trough, and Doroninskaya Depression. The main differences in the geoelectric structure of these structures, as well as the blocks isolated within them, are shown. The conductive heterogeneity identified in the Earth's crust of the Salair ore zone is considered as a promising area with the highest probability of detecting indigenous deposits of endogenous genesis. The areas of increased electrical resistivity (3*103 ohms·m) detected at a depth of about 1000 m in the territory of East Salair are interpreted as granitoid intrusions of the Zhernovsky complex. They are located on the continuation in the northern direction of the axis of the roof projections of a large batholith of the Zhernovsky complex of Late Permian age. In spatial connection with these granitoids, manifestations of geochemical anomalies of tin, lead, zinc and other elements are found.
