Abstract
The article examines the problem of limitations of empirical testing of geological hypotheses, the essence of which lies in the disproportion of the object and subject of research, as well as in the "complexity" of the object of research, that is, in the uncalculated set of geological processes at the border of macro- and mega-levels, as a result of which this object was formed.
