Abstract
The article is a book review dedicated to everyday life in West Siberian cities. The monograph contributes to studying the problems of Siberia’s position and role in the First World War, which has recently become more popular among researchers. While other historical studies consider mainly military issues, as well as the regional economic situation, E. E. Shumilova’s work touches upon the way of life and living conditions of citizens, which allows the reader to imagine the war from a simple commoner’s point of view.
