Abstract
This article is aimed to evaluate how a historical memory influenced current Japan-Korea relations. The main goal of this research is to determine key components of the historical memory and ways of its implementation in foreign policy. The issue of historical memory is well-developed both in Russia and abroad. Over the past decade a lot of papers were devoted to historical memory in Japan-Korea relations. The author supposed that the issue of «overcoming the past» will be relevant for Tokyo-Seoul relations in the future. To solve this problem the priority should be given to common goals, but not to conflicts.
