Abstract
This article gives the characteristic of studying process of followers and population within Islamic education. The author points out that there are official «Sunday Schools» and unregistered «Private Madrassas» as alternative, and also stresses their features in Russia. Besides, the author considers some problems of governmental regulation, caused by the lack of formed system of Islamic education. Comparative analysis of such educational institutions is based on the materials of author's survey in religious study.
