Abstract
The purpose of the article is to analyze asymmetry as a qualitative characteristic of the dialogue of cultures and civilizations. The author considers the asymmetry of the dialogic interaction as a multidimensional phenomenon, now being studied by the representatives of various areas of scientific knowledge, but in the humanitarian sphere having no precise boundaries and specifications. The article argues that the asymmetry is a qualitative characteristic of the inter-subject dialogue, including the dialogue between civilizations and cultures, based on non-equilibrium position of its subjects, their status and resources.
