Abstract
The article focuses on epistolary heritage characteristics of one of the most famous Decembrists. Nowadays many of I.D. Yakushkin’s letters are kept in the Russian archives. For many years historians have been actively publishing his correspondence. Along with general classifying and organizing I.D. Yakushkin’s letter-heritage the author characterizes the Decembrist’s personality and mentality, his psychological type, which contributes a lot to the reconstruction of general history of the Decembrist movement where I.D.Yakushkin was one of the key and typological figures.
