Abstract
E-learning entails not only positive opportunities, but also some rarely considered dangerous negative tendencies in the education system. They manifest themselves in the conditions of consumerism and the mass-media influence. The quality of education in terms of e-learning as a model of new education in the era of information society is considered. In the article a special attention is paid to the question of methodological correction of not only epistemological but also axiological principles of the computer-based systems of education.
