																					 Abstract
The goal of the article is to substantiate the idea that Russian liberalism is an original, self-sustained phenomenon which differs in its essence from the Western analogies. The author asserts that a genuine liberalism may be only conservative. The article emphasizes the importance of studying Russian liberalism being an organic part of Russian cultural and religions life in the conditions of globalization. The work analyses some theoretical experience of Russian liberalism, actualizing one of the key theme in modern philosophy of education: the problem of formation of the person.  In the author's opinion, the dissimilarities between the Russian and the Western liberals are manifested in the divergence in the interpretation of the person.
