Abstract
The article justifies the need for elaboration of an interdisciplinary methodology, being adequate to the current level of civilization development, scientific thought and the object of research - the history of formation of the regional educational systems. The author suggests implementing the methods of allied sciences for studying the pedagogical phenomena, as well as devising the principles and stages of the educational regionalistics as a new trend in pedagogical research, and substantiates a possibility of applying them within the framework of interdisciplinary methodology.
