Abstract
The aim of the paper is to define the state of legal education under the conditions of radical transformations of the state and the economy and to single out the main factors hindering its development. The expansion of legal education, change of its content and forms is the result of fundamental social changes. The strategy of this process is due to objective factors: the systemic crisis in the country, the task of forming of a new community of lawyers, the gap between the real functioning of educational institutions and their ideal models, the low level of legal education. The article is based on the analysis of the legislature on legal education and the practice of its application, personal experience of teaching legal subjects.
