Abstract
Detection of signals in a seismic observation system, which appear, in particular, when a man moves over the ground surface, is considered. A mathematical model of a signal as a periodic sequence of pulses with the unknown period and with random variables, and a seismic background model having the character of a continuous Gaussian process with the unknown spectral power density are introduced. Adaptive Bayes and nonparametric detection procedures, and their digital realizations are studied. The detection characteristics are analyzed.
