Abstract
The present stage of social historical progress - an epoch of becoming of the knowledge society, in formation and which development the special role is allocated education. Actualized the problem of the quality of education, which must meet the requirements of the time. Taking into account the multi-dimensionality of this concept, the article analyzes the definition of «quality education» presented at the Federal Law «On Education in the Russian Federation». Features of the modern approach to quality management of education, as well as prospect of perfection of an education system in a society of knowledge come to light.
