Abstract
The paper analyzes the specifics of the modernization processes in Russia. It is shown that in the emerging knowledge economy based on the knowledge-intensive industries, the importance of integration of science and education is increasing. It is substantiated that close cooperation between scientific and educational spheres will provide qualified personnel and intellectual resource potential for the country’s transition to innovative development in the conditions of modernization of the main spheres of the modern Russian society.
