The professional reputation in the academic environment is impossible today without theproper level of mastering the terminological competence in that area of science where the scientist works. The importance of this aspect is due not only to the scientific necessity, but also to the necessity of increasingthe level of communicative skills of young scientists in the conditions of globalization of education and widening the boundaries of modern educational space. In the article,the terminological competence is considered both from the methodological and the didactic positions. Concrete recommendations on its formation by the post-graduate students and the Master Degree students are given.
