Abstract
The meaning in the field of the foreign language knowledge is revealed as one-toone correspondence between the need for such knowledge and the real opportunitiessatisfying them. Knowledge as a potential opportunity becomes true only as the resultof actualization of its potential. The foreign language knowledge of the students ofnon-language departments has mainly a potential character. To satisfy the needs intrue language knowledge, it is necessary to introduce new actualizing opportunities into the teaching.
