The authors indicate that to the process of upbringing there has always been paid a significant attention as to one of the major factors of successful development of the state. Deep socio-cultural changes in a social system always entail the search for new approaches in the upbringing system. The upbringing, directed toward the future but abstracted from socialization of the person, can lead to severe conflict of the person with the conditions of its life activity. In modern conditions, upbringing should be one of the factors of sustainable development of the society and state.
