Russians of Uzbekistan: Modern Ethno-Cultural Processes (the Case of Angren)

Abstract
This paper is focused on analysis of the main features of sociocultural life in small towns of Tashkent oblast in the post-Soviet period. The object of research is population of Angren, its subject – main characteristics of Russian-speaking commune during the post-Soviet period and problems of its adaptation to the social and political life in Uzbekistan. While studying this group the author comes to conclusion that the Russian-speaking population, even being a minority, continues to play a significant role in the sociocultural life in the cities of Tashkent oblast.
