Abstract
The article considers some factors affecting the distinguishing features of adult education in the information society at its beginning stage. The author emphasizes the interrelations between the teaching and the learning of the adults. The article demonstrates how complicated the process of adult education can be, how much depends upon the personal readiness of the student and the teacher to interact, how their social roles transform and what incentives could be effectively used.
