Abstract
The article is devoted to the consideration of the educational system as a stabilizer in the society development. This system needs to be conservative and traditional to fulfill its function in the society. In order for the society to be stable, its elite should be conservative. In order for the state system to be close to people's mind, the elite should be traditional. Conservatism as a phenomenon of historical development and conservatism as a political ideology diverge more and more. The phenomenon of conservatism (ossification) as a psychological attitude to any existing thing and status quo stands apart from the notions considered above.
