In the article there are explained the concepts of differentiation and individualization in education, there are considered the opportunities of realization of the activity approach in the conditions of differentiation and individualization of training and the role of the activity approach in activation of the learners' independent work. The author indicates the importance of differentiation and individualization in education, analyzes the essence of the activity approach, as well as various forms of organization of the independent work in the conditions of differentiation and individualization.
