Abstract
The aim of the article is to determine the basic mechanisms and the problems of the students adaptation to the higher education environment using the contemporary ideas of beginning, development and results of the person's adaptation in the society. The main idea is to consider adaptation as a dynamic phenomenon built according to the regularities of the process and demanding a detailed analysis. The article studies the issues of formation of the student community, upbringing of the specialists demanded by the society, creation of an adaptive space of the institution of higher education.
