Abstract
The paper addresses the problem of forming the textual competence of the native speaker (in our case, the higher education student), its lexical level in particular; the latter is understood as elementary lexical skills within the framework of the anthropocentric approach, i.e. comprehension of the scientific text, interpretation of its vocabulary, understanding new concepts based on the ability of personal language awareness predetermined by the current personal world-view.
