Abstract
In the article there is analyzed the possibility of using the innovative educational technology of critical thinking for the formation of core competencies of the future specialist in the higher education institution. It is noticed that the traditional approaches to the organization of educational process are unproductive in modern conditions of transition to new state educational standards, do not form the ability of the students to critically think and do not develop their creative potential to the full extent. The author considers the prospects of application of active forms and training methods in the higher education institution, which foster the formation of the student's core competencies.
