Abstract
There is offered some reflections on the aims of higher education on the example of education in the field of public relations and advertising. There is shown the gap between the quality of education for new specialties and the requirement of employers there. However, the complaints of business about the level of knowledge and skills of the graduates, about the sets of disciplines studied by the students are not always justified. The logical gaps stem from the differences in goals between education and business. The author believes that education in the university should create a professional image of the world, which is formed through the integration of theoretical knowledge.
