Abstract
In the article, the authors consider the concept of "passionarnost" (passionarity), introduced into scientific usage by the famous historian and philosopher L. N. Gumilyov. The influence of the phases of passionarity on various states of the society is also considered. The phenomenon of a "personality of passionarity" is revealed. The influence of the positive and negative passionarity on the social processes is shown.
