Abstract
There is analyzed G. Bateson's approach to formalization of the "double bind" situation during communication between individuals on the basis of the theory of logic types and logic levels of communication. Generalization of this approach to the case of communication between social groups and social institutes is suggested. It is substantiated that the analysis of the "double bind" situation in the society has a paramount importance for revealing the adapting function of modern education.
