Distribution of 20-hydroxyecdysone within Serratula coronata L. plants was studied at different growth stages. High levels of 20-hydroxyecdysone were detected in young actively functioning plant parts. It was shown on the example of Serratula coronata and Rhaponticum carthamoides (Willd.) Iljin that the ecdysteroid distribution pattern depended on bio-morphological peculiarities of plant species. The significance of ecdysteroid distribution pattern within plants for studding of biochemical aspect of plant-insect interaction was shown.
