Abstract
The paper considers dynamics of demographic processes in the Eastern Parts of Russia (Ural, Siberia, Far East) under the circumstances of overall political and socioeconomic transformations in the XX century. The author characterizes the impact of the two world wars, resettlement policies of P.A.Stolypin, economic and demographic policies of the Soviet government in different periods of history on the formation and controversial development of demographic potential of the eastern regions. The author proves the high importance of the strategy of population preservation and upsurge for the Asiatic Russia, whose geopolitical role cannot be overestimated.
