Abstract
The paper is devoted to the analysis of the rhetoric, communicative strategy and symbolical means applied in the television advertising, which are called to appeal to the feeling of national pride of the mass-media audience. According to the author's concept based on the principles of social constructionism, it is necessary to determine how the projects of modernization/traditionalization of Russia and the media environment of the Russian TV relate to each other " in order to find out how the authors of these projects view the national identity.
